About Creepshow
Creepshow (1982) represents the dream collaboration between George A. Romero and Stephen King, paying loving homage to the EC horror comics both creators grew up reading. The anthology format delivers five tales of poetic justice and supernatural revenge, wrapped in a framing device about a boy whose father throws away his horror comics. Tom Savini's makeup effects, combined with bold comic-book lighting and animated panel transitions, create a unique visual style that perfectly captures the EC aesthetic. The film features an all-star cast including Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, and Ed Harris, with King himself memorably playing a dimwitted farmer overrun by alien vegetation.
